Role & responsibilities

In the context of a growing tech team, we’re looking for 2 mid/senior Product Designers whose mission is to help us delight customers with hard-to-copy and margin-enhancing solutions.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Who you’ll work with
You will work in one of our product squads, in close collaboration with the Product Manager and the engineers (~5). You will report to the VP Product and have an external mentoring to help you grow.

🧑‍🎨 Our products and users
We have 3 distinct groups of products and users:
• An e-commerce website, used by customers who want to buy art and furniture
• A back-office for artists and designers (manage their product, page, sales, shipping)
• Internal tools for internal users

👉 Your responsibilities
In your day-to-day, you will:
• Conduct user research
• Dive into customer problems and user needs
• Design interfaces and experiences
• Build prototypes
• Partner with our engineers and operations team to ship your work
• Help refine our best practices and Design System.

A few examples of features we are working on these days
• How to better visualise artworks before buying
• How to add home design objects (furniture) and designers into our art marketplace
• How to help our logistics team save time
• How to improve the perception of our visual identity and value proposition for newcomers
• Internally, how to step up the quality of our design (improve the design system)

We work with modern tools (Figma, Miro, Notion, Maze).

The direct outcome of your work is a better experience for our users.

Your performance is assessed based on the quality of your design (how usable it is, how well it enables our users to reach their goals), how well you collaborate with PM and engineers, and your impact on the team practices.

🌠 Career opportunities
You’ll both be able to grow either as an individual contributor (up to Principal Product Designer) or toward leadership roles, as we are building the team and we need design leaders.

What we look for

Minimum requirements
Please don’t apply if you don’t meet the following 4 criteria:
• English work proficiency (you’ll have to talk to users and some teammates in English)
• French work proficiency (this garantees an easier collaboration with the engineering team)
• 2 years of cumulated experience in a product role
• Good foundation in both UX and UI design

🥇 The best candidates will also show the following qualities:
    •  Rigorous approach: you highlight the hypotheses underlying your design, point out the evidence you have vs the bets you make and drive high-level discussions with the Product Trio.
    •  Track record of learning and improving: you have made an impact on you and your team by investing in improving your knowledge and environment.
    •  Deep understanding of the craft: You have an appreciation for the entire product development cycle: research, problem definition, ideation, solution design, testing and iteration.
    •  Stakeholder management: you take into account the various constraints around your design while still defending your positions.
    •  Proficiency in measuring the impact of your designs.
    •  Familiarity with building and perfecting a design system.
    •  Don't worry if you don't tick all the boxes, we value growth and learning and will help you develop your skills happily.

Hiring Process

Our process does not involve any take-home design exercise nor live whiteboard exercises.
    •  15-minutes screening call to career goals alignement and basic requirements
    •  Short written form (~15 minutes at home) about your vision of design
    •  Design interview (questions about your experience and a presentation of some of your past work (1h)) to assess your design skills
    •  “Career journey” interview with the Head of Product to understand you deeper
    •  HR call to talk about SINGULART’s values and salary
