NOVA specializes in numerical modeling and simulation of clinical trials for biotech and pharmaceutical companies, academic research centers and non-profit organizations.

We help our clients unleash the potential of combining math, computer science and biology to reduce the risks associated with R&D of new treatments for the benefit of patients.

Leveraging years of experience in in-silico modeling and the collaborative work of our team of biologists, doctors, clinicians, mathematicians and computer scientists we are currently building our Jinkō SaaS platform. Our vision is to make it the first integrated clinical trials simulation platform, combining powerful knowledge management, modeling and simulation tools dedicated to the medical research community.

Technology-wise this platform is based on a modern stack (Haskell, NodeJS /Typescript, Vue.js) and it has been designed from the ground up with a modular approach where components are self-contained, stateless, and operate under strict adherence to the Separation of Concerns paradigm.

The opportunity in a nutshell
  • Reporting to the Executive Manager, product & user experience, and working closely with a Product Designer, you will have the opportunity to apply your skills both in UX research and UI design, in an exciting SaaS product environment.
  • You will be joining a software development team of more than 25 talented developers from different fields of expertise, devops, designers, product owners and customer care specialists.
  • You will be able to focus on a variety of specialized, highly-educated, personae from the medical and clinical research world (biomodelers, biostatisticians, Doctors, clinicians, academics…), helping them with your research and design to accomplish advanced tasks with constantly refined interfaces.
  • You will be working in an international team, with a strong cultural diversity and a hard-working but caring attitude.
Your mission and main responsibilities include
  • Participate in various User Research workshops and methodologies to refine user workflows and core needs
  • Define / Refine and formalize user workflows for key activities on the Jinkō platform.
  • Moderate co-creation sessions with product owners, designers and developers to outline useful and usable interfaces based on user research.
  • Produce  prototypes, using mainly Figma.
  • Prepare and moderate usability testing sessions, synthesize and prioritize findings.
  • Potentially, use analytics tools to uncover user behaviors.
  • Support the Product designer on the production of implementable UI design
Requirements and qualifications

We are looking for someone who knows or have some experience with:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in collaborative UX design involving users and technical stakeholders.
  • You have at least one significant experience working in SaaS products or software projects environments
  • Organized and proactive, you have  excellent listening and communication skills.
  • You are a problem solver, not oriented only on features but on the challenges faced by users. You will work closely with product owners and tech leads to find design solutions on key topics.
  • You are familiar with Agile methodologies and have some experience working with product managers / owners.
  • You are proficient in oral and written English.
  • You are eager to work with a team of innovation enthusiasts in various fields of expertise: beside skilled product developers and managers, you will also work along with biologists, data scientists and applied math engineers.
  • You love data-informed design decisions, be it quantitative or qualitative

Technologies & languages

  • Great command of design and prototyping tools, especially Figma (a portfolio might be asked).
  • Fluent English is a must, as you will be running workshops with native english-speaking users.
  • Good technical knowledge of front-end technologies is a plus.
